Preparatory meeting for 52th convocation of DU held

A preparatory meeting was held on Thursday in Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University to observe 52nd convocation of the university, says a press release.

Chaired by Vice Chancellor of the university Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, the meeting was attended by Pro-vice Chancellor (administration) Prof Dr Abdus Samad, members of university’s senate and syndicate, deans, provosts, department chairpersons, directors of the institutes, leaders of Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) were present.

The graduates whose results are/will be published between September 3, 2018 to August 18, 2019 can participate in the 52th convocation.

DU started receiving online applications from participants at http://convocation.du.ac.bd on July 21, 2019. Interested individuals can apply till 12 midnight on August 18 to join the convocation.

Meanwhile, advertisements for the convocation were published in various newspapers. Besides, detailed information of the convocation is available on the university website.

The convocation will be held on December 9, 2019 Monday. It will be chaired by President of Bangladesh and Chancellor of Dhaka University Md Abdul Hamid. Director of Institute for Cosmic Ray Research of Tokyo University Professor Dr Takaki Kazita, also Noble Laureate in Physics, is expected to deliver the convocation speech. He will be conferred an honorary Doctor of Laws degree at the ceremony.
