Trump's "Arbitrary" Policies Threaten to Devastate West Asia: Iran’s Speaker

The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, warned on Monday, April 6, 2026, that the "arbitrary" and unilateral decisions made by U.S. President Donald Trump could "devastate" the entire West Asian region.

Addressing a parliamentary session in Tehran, Ghalibaf condemned the recent escalations and the perceived U.S. backing of strikes on Iran’s strategic energy and nuclear infrastructure.

He characterized these policies as a direct threat to regional stability and global security, asserting that Washington's current trajectory is pushing the Middle East toward an uncontrollable catastrophe.

Ghalibaf reaffirmed Iran's commitment to defending its national interests, stating that any further aggression would be met with a "decisive and crushing" response from the Iranian military.
