Speakers emphasis on analytical and local culture-based programs
Radio Saikat local advisory committee second meeting was held today at Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner office.
The meeting was chaired by Imran Hossain Sajib, the Additional Deputy commissioner (General).
The event will be moderated by the Assistant Director, Zahangir Alam, COAST Foundation and the welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Sohel Iqbal, Director Partnership.
Md. Tamzidur Rahman Tonmoy, Assistant Commissioner and Mirza MD. Tausif Shorif Snigdho Assistant Commissioner were present as guests.
Besides, the member of the committee who were present at the meeting included Abdus Sattar District Information Officer, Dr. Sadik Alam Asif, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Cox's Bazar Sadar, Assistant Director Bangladesh betar Ahmed Muntasir Chowdhury, and others.
Morshedur Rahman Khukan Executive Member, Cox's Bazar Press Club, APP Abu Musa Mohammad, Layer Shaki A Kausar, Nurul Islam, president of Cox’s Bazar Literature Academy, Ex- professor, Moqbul Ahmed, ex-chairman Ruhul Kader Babul and the staff of the Radio Saikat were also present.
Radio Saikat station manager, Umme Hani Jarin presented the last year achievement. Then an open discussion was going on for the development and future plan of this radio. The guest and the speakers provided feedback.
Imran Hossain Sajib said that the radio content should be present in unique and different ways to the listeners, so the community engagement will be increased.
He also said that as Cox's Bazar is a tourist city, and this tourist attraction has great potentiality. To use these, many interesting and informative program could be prepared.
The program should focus on analytical and local culture-based events, and the people who are involved in the program, the Facebook page and the website should be equipped with more information and user-friendly, so anyone can get the information very easily.
Considering the audience, the program must be kept developed. By keeping the program subject and language selection consistent, the audience of the audience can easily understand the content better.
Mirza MD. Tausif Shorif Snigdho said that radio program can be developed in coordination with district administration which can emphasis the necessary services for the people. Program should be people centric and awareness types.
Md. Tamzidur Rahman Tonmoy said that contemporary and services posts should be delivery to marginal people. For this, important contents can be present with short videos for easy understanding.
Abdus Sattar said that the main role of government and non-government departments is to work for the lifestyle of the people. Radio Saikat is doing on this goal.
Advocate Abu Musa said that Radio Saikat is not a profitable organization but they are doing very well for the development of people by their informative works.
He also emphasized on some program on women's rights, child abuse and child labor in the local language, so that the people can understand the topics.
Advocate Shaki A Kaisar said that government has amended some laws but not reach to the people. In this context, Radio Saikat can broadcast the messages and new law information to the common people. For this, weekly program and talk show can be arranged.
All the participants welcomed Radio Saikat for the programs and activities. They also suggested to prepare more people centric, informative, awareness types of programs. The participants also discussed the future work of the radio and expressed for support and cooperation.
