Tangail's Sharifa Haque named best DC in Dhaka division


Tangail Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque has been recognised as the best deputy commissioner in Dhaka Division in recognition of her administrative performance and contributions to primary education.

The Dhaka Divisional Commissioner's Office announced the recognition in an official letter issued on 3 June and made public on Sunday.

Sharifa Haque, the second female deputy commissioner in Tangail's history, belongs to the 25th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) batch. Since taking office, she has earned praise for her efficient administration, integrity and people-oriented approach.

According to the citation, she played a significant role in organising a successful and widely accepted national parliamentary election. The citation also highlighted her contributions to improving primary education in the district.

Her initiatives to enhance the quality of education and promote children's welfare received particular recognition.

Reacting to the honour, Sharifa said public services should reach people in a way that strengthens their trust in the state and its institutions.

She also stressed the importance of improving primary education, saying quality education at the foundational level remains essential to building a prosperous and developed Bangladesh.

The recognition places her among the top-performing district administrators in the division and reflects her commitment to public service and educational development.
