Interpol notice under process against Hasina, Kamal: Police

A process is underway to serve Interpol red notices against Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal – both fugitive death-row convicts in a case of crime against humanity.

Officials at the Police Headquarters confirmed the development.

The process is underway following the verdict of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) that sentenced Sheikh Hasina and Kamal to death for ordering a crackdown on the student-led July Uprising last year.

Earlier, A three-member International Crimes Tribunal, led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder delivered its 453-page judgement over nearly two and a half hours in open court on November 17.

Hasina, meanwhile, in a statement said the verdict announced against her today was "biased and politically motivated".

"I am not afraid to face my accusers in a proper tribunal where evidence can be weighed and tested fairly," Reuters quoted Hasina as saying.
