Arrest warrant against Mufti Amir Hamza have been filed


A court in Sirajganj issued an arrest warrant on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, for Mufti Amir Hamza, the Member of Parliament for Kushtia-3, in a defamation case. The warrant was issued by the judge of the Chouhali Cognizance Court after Hamza failed to appear on the scheduled date of April 19. The case was filed on April 2 by Advocate Humayun Kabir Colonel, General Secretary of the District Bar Association, accusing Hamza of making derogatory remarks and labeling the Minister of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, as an "atheist and anti-Islam."
