The government is cheating about the referendum results: Mia Golam Parwar

On Saturday morning, May 9, 2026, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar criticized the current government at Saidpur Airport, accusing them of betraying the public mandate of the recent referendum.

He claimed that the BNP-led government is practicing severe regional discrimination in development, favoring specific constituencies while ignoring long-standing demands like upgrading Saidpur Airport to international status for the benefit of Northern Bangladesh.

Porwar also expressed concern over the suppression of media freedom, alleging that journalists are being harassed or terminated for highlighting government failures. He warned that ignoring public interests and constitutional mandates would lead to a "political self-goal" for the ruling party.
