The Bangladesh U-20 national football team received a historic reward following their successful defense of the SAFF U-20 Championship title.

On Monday, April 6, 2026, coinciding with National Sports Day, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque announced that the champion players will receive a monthly salary of BDT 1 lakh each.

This major incentive follows the team’s dramatic victory over India in a penalty shootout, after which they were honored with a grand reception and a celebratory open-top bus parade to Hatirjheel’s amphitheater on Saturday night.

In addition to the government's monthly stipend, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has pledged BDT 1 lakh in prize money per player, while the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has also planned separate honors for the young athletes.
