CSE signs MoU with CFFEX to develop BD’s derivatives market


The Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC (CSE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Financial Futures Exchange Co. Ltd. (CFFEX) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in developing a sustainable derivatives market in Bangladesh.

The signing ceremony took place during the Annual Assembly of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) in Istanbul, Turkey, through a formal program attended by representatives from both institutions on 21 October, said a press release on Tuesday.

Under this MoU, CSE and CFFEX have agreed to collaborate in several key areas, including: Development and advancement of the derivatives market in Bangladesh. Sharing and exchange of relevant market information and expertise. Facilitating training and knowledge-sharing programs between CFFEX and CSE. Providing active support for business development, particularly in promoting derivatives products.

The agreement was signed by M. Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar, FCA, FCMA, Managing Director of CSE, and Xiaogang Zhang, Chief Executive Officer of CFFEX, on behalf of their respective organizations.

Also present at the signing ceremony were Shan Shuang and Feng Yu from CFFEX.

The partnership marks a significant step toward enhancing the technical and strategic capabilities of CSE in introducing and promoting derivatives trading in Bangladesh’s capital market, aligning with global standards and best practices.
