Stocks see upward trend on higher transactions


Stocks witnessed upward trends on Monday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions.

The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 718.25 crore from Sunday’s Taka 580.70 crore and the daily trade also rose to 13.02 crore share from 11.99 crore share of the previous session.

The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 41.52 points up at 5,755.79. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 19.96 points up at 2,016.74 and with 7.38 points up at 1,319.95.

At DSE, out of the day’s 345 securities, prices of 137 securities closed higher against 166 losing issues.

The major gaining issues were ICBAMCL2ND, Union Capital, KAY&QUE, Brac Bank and GENEXIL. The major losing issues were Imam Button, Zeal Bangla, 1STPRIMFMF, BXSYNTH and Meghna Condense Milk.

Square Pharma topped the turnover list followed by Monno Ceramics, KPCL, BSCCL and GP.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 82.22 points up at 17,593.28. At CSE, 254 issues were traded. Of those, 254 closed higher and 81 closed lower.
