Primary Education to be Extended Up to Grade 8: Deputy Minister


State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj announced on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, that primary education in Bangladesh will be progressively extended up to Grade 8.

Speaking at an event organized by the Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre, the Minister outlined a vision to provide free education for children aged 4 to 13.

He emphasized that this transition will be carried out in a phased manner to ensure structural and curricular readiness, aiming to strengthen the foundational learning of students across the country.
