Flame damages 200 rooms of Secretariat
The fire that broke out at the building No-7 of the secretariat on December 26, damaged at least 200 rooms on the fourth floor of the building, Deputy Assistant Engineer of Public Works, Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan said on Monday.
While talking to reporters at the secretariat, Mannan said the cause of the fire will not be known immediately unless the investigation is completed.
Initially, it appears that the building can be repaired, he told a questioner adding that the actual facts will be understood after getting the final report.
The government has formed many investigation committees and one of the committees formed by the home ministry is scheduled to submit its report on Tuesday.
After a meeting with senior officials, Nasimul Gani, senior secretary of the home ministry, told the newsmen that some samples of the flame would be sent abroad for investigation.
