BD, Pakistan discuss strengthening defence, security cooperation

Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman and Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza have discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in defence and security sectors between the two countries.

The discussion took place during a courtesy meeting of the visiting Pakistani delegation, led by General Mirza, at the Army Headquarters in Dhaka, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release on Tuesday.

Both sides also exchanged views on enhancing military ties through joint training, seminars, and exchange visits.

On 25 October night, General Mirza called on Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus at the state guesthouse Jamuna, where they discussed bilateral relations, trade and investment, and defence cooperation.
