1,490 appointed, 186 dropped from final list of 44th BCS
Out of 1,676 candidates who passed the 44th BCS, 186 have been excluded from final appointments.
On Friday, the Ministry of Public Administration issued notifications appointing 1,490 candidates to various cadres through this BCS, seven months after the Public Service Commission (PSC) recommendation.
Appointments include 244 in the administration cadre, 48 in police, 9 in foreign service, 11 in tax and 29 in audit and accounts, among others.
The ministry has asked all appointees to join by 9 February. Those who fail to report by the deadline will be considered to have declined the appointment, and their offer letters will be cancelled.
PSC had published the final 44th BCS results for 1,676 candidates on 11 November, after rectifying discrepancies.
Earlier, the first phase results were announced on 30 June, with 1,690 candidates passing. Of them, 303 candidates showed unwillingness to join their recommended or lower-preference cadres, prompting the PSC to release supplementary results on 6 November.
The 44th BCS notification was originally published on 30 November 2021, with 1,710 officer positions planned across different cadres.
