Inqilab Moncho protesters leave Shahbagh
Activists of Inqilab Moncho left Shahbagh on Thursday night following a series of clashes with police, announcing that a new programme would be declared later.
The protesters left Shahbagh at around 10:30pm.
A leader of the organisation urged activists to return home following the instructions of Inqilab Moncho Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber.
He said that a fresh programme would be announced by Inqilab Moncho on Saturday and further steps would be taken in line with that announcement.
Leaders of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) AB Jubair and Musaddek Ali were present at the scene at the time.
Earlier, a post on Inqilab Moncho’s official Facebook page claimed that “League activists have become active and are trying to divert the situation by blending in with the general public”.
The post further alleged that there were attempts to obstruct the national election and demanded justice for the killing of Shaheed Osman Hadi, urging everyone to move to a safe place.
