Calls for Greater Sufi UnityIftar gathering of Pirs and Sufi Scholars held in Dhaka


An iftar gathering honoring pirs, spiritual leaders, and Sufi scholars was held in the capital on Sunday, calling for stronger unity among various Sufi orders in the country.

The event was hosted at the invitation of Imam Professor Dr. Qudrat-e-Khoda Huzur, the spiritual leader of Mohammadi Islam. More than 500 pirs, Sufi practitioners, Islamic scholars, and followers of different Sufi tariqas from home and abroad attended the gathering.

Speakers at the event emphasized that the core teachings of Sufism are love, tolerance, and the welfare of humanity. They noted that strengthening cooperation and unity among followers of different Sufi traditions has become a pressing need of the time.

Addressing the gathering, Imam Professor Dr. Qudrat-e-Khoda Huzur said that if divisions within the Sufi community can be overcome and a coordinated platform established, the message of peace, compassion, and moral values can be spread more effectively throughout society.

Among those present at the iftar were Hazrat Maulana Atae Rabbi Siddiqui As-Saifi of Saifiya Darbar Sharif; Haji Syed Wasim Uddin Chishti of Wali Manzil, Ajmer Sharif in India; Dhaka University Emeritus Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman; Dr. Mohammad Ahsanul Hadi of Mohammadiya Darbar Sharif; Supreme Court Justice Syed Md. Ziaul Karim; Dr. M. Abdul Quddus Badsha of the Bangladesh Imamia Ulama Society; Mohammad Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan Al-Waisi of Mehdeebagh Darbar Sharif in Kolkata; Pir Tajinur Rahman of Garpara Imambara Darbar Sharif; Shah Sufi Syed Anwar Mobaraki Al-Qadri of Bakhshi Bazar Khanqah Sharif; Allama Hanif Noori of Nure Haq Darbar Sharif; and Dr. Syed Shah Sufi Muqtadir Noori Al-Sureshwari of Sureshwar Darbar Sharif, among others.
