The Prime Minister rode in a smart car made by a college student
Prime Minister Tarek Rahman extended his appreciation to Wakimul Islam, a 17-year-old specially-abled student, for inventing the "A2I Smart Car."
On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the Prime Minister met Wakimul at his Tejgaon office and personally took a ride in the battery-powered vehicle.
Wakimul, a science student from Jashore, developed the car to regain his mobility and independence. The vehicle can travel up to 50 km on a single charge with a top speed of 45 km/h.
Prime Minister Rahman praised the use of local technology and assured government support to further modernize the invention for the benefit of elderly and disabled citizens across the country.
