Adilur seeks UK’s cooperation to bring back laundered money


Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan on Monday sought cooperation from the United Kingdom to bring back money laundered from Bangladesh during the previous government.

“The UK has been Bangladesh’s trusted development partner for a long time. The two countries have excellent bilateral relations in terms of trade and investment. It is possible to take this bilateral relationship to a higher level by working together,” he added.

Adilur Rahman said this during a meeting with Deputy High Commissioner and Development Director at the British High Commission in Dhaka James Goldman at the industries ministry’s conference room, read a press release.

They discussed various issues, including trade and investment, at the meeting.

Expressing his country’s support for the interim government, James Goldman said Bangladesh and the UK are working together and the two countries want to work more closely by forming specialised teams.

He also expressed his determination to cooperate with the legal process for returning the money laundered from Bangladesh.
