Govt to withdraw 16,429 'politically motivated', 'false' cases
The interim government has decided to withdraw 16,429 politically motivated and false cases.
This information was confirmed through an official announcement on the Chief Advisor GOB Facebook page on Monday evening.
The post stated that thousands of innocent people were falsely implicated in cases as part of political vendettas, using the law as a tool to punish opponents.
"These cases caused immense suffering for the accused and their families, while distorting both the political and judicial systems," the statement said.
"Withdrawing these cases aims to end unjust harassment, reduce political tensions, and create a level playing field ahead of the elections," the statement added.
Explaining the significance of the move, the statement further said that clearing these false charges would restore justice to those wrongfully accused, help establish a fair political environment, and encourage broader electoral participation.
"Ultimately, this reform will increase public trust in both the judicial and political systems, paving the way for a more peaceful and democratic process," the statement also said.
