CXB Airport gets int'l status


The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has officially declared Cox’s Bazar Airport as an international airport.

A gazette notification signed by Joint Secretary Ahmed Jamil, on behalf of the President, was issued on Sunday (October 12) and made public on Monday (October 13), according to local media reports.

The notification stated that under sub-rule (1) of rule 16 of the Civil Aviation Rules, 1984, the government has declared Cox’s Bazar Airport as “Cox’s Bazar International Airport,” effective immediately in the public interest.

Officials from various ministries, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), and other relevant departments have been informed to take necessary measures for its implementation.
