Lynching or mob violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances: Dr. Zahed
Information and Broadcasting Advisor Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman stated on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, that the government has adopted a "zero-tolerance" policy against mob justice and lynching.
Speaking at the Secretariat, he acknowledged that a trend of taking the law into one's own hands had emerged due to past leniency, which the current administration is determined to curb.
Dr. Rahman emphasized that only the state has the legal authority to punish criminals and that no individual or group has the right to resort to violence, regardless of the severity of the crime.
He assured that law enforcement agencies would deal strictly with organized violence and urged the public to rely on the formal judicial process rather than vigilante justice.
