Police Week 2019 begins
Police Week 2019 has began across Bangladesh with the theme:"Build unity of police-people, eliminate drug-militants.”
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the program at Rajarbagh Police Lines in Dhaka around 10:30am on Monday, reports UNB.
She will hand over awards to 345 members of police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for their various outstanding contributionsthis year, including bravery, heroism and services.
According to the gazette of the home ministry issued on January 29, she will award:40 policemen the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-Gallantry),62 policementhe President Police Medal (PPM-gallantry), 104 police men the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-Service) and 143 police men the President Police Medal (PPM-Service) for their bravery and courage in their service in the last year.
President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in separate messages, greeted all members of the Bangladesh Police on the occasion.
