Oishee wins ‘Miss World Bangladesh’ crown
Jannatul Ferdous Oishee has won the title of ‘Miss World Bangladesh’ defeating 30,000 contestants.
She was crowned as the winner of Miss World Bangladesh 2018 following a dazzling gala night at International Convention Centre Bashundhara (ICCB) on Sunday.
Nishat Nawar Salwa has been chosen as the first runner-up and Naziba Bushra as the second.
18-year-old Oishee will represent Bangladesh at the Miss World 2018 competition which will start in China on December 7.
“I feel great. My earnest gratitude to everyone,” excited Oishee said.
She has completed her higher secondary education. Her father is a development worker and mother a teacher. Oishee is the youngest among siblings.
Both of her close rivals in the pageant Nishat and Naziba have wished her luck in representing the country on the international stage.
Famed groomer Nayanika Chatterjee will groom Oishee.
Nayanika Chatterjee has helped a number of contestants to win the Miss World crown since 1996.
The main panel of judges included singer Shuvro Deb, actor-model Khaled Hossain Shujon, model Sadia Shabnaz Emi and Barrister Farabi.
