‘Movement Pass’ being introduced for emergency movement

Police are taking initiative to launch ‘movement pass’ in order to restrict movement of people in the present coronavirus situation.

According to media report, people, who need to go outside in case of emergency, would be able to move freely using this card.

People concerned will have to apply to get the services.

Talking to journalist on Thursday, Sohel Rana, Assistant Inspector General (Media) of the Police Headquarters, said the initiative has been taken for the uninterrupted movement of people who are going outside of their homes in case of emergency.

The movement pass is still on trial. If the service becomes effective in preventing unnecessary movement and gathering of people, and lowering possibility of COVID-19 transmission, then it may be launched soon, he added.

The movement pass can be issued after filling the online application form of Bangladesh Police showing valid reasons.

Although the service has yet not been launched, the PHQ opened the application form of movement pass on Wednesday.
