All-out measures taken for safe Eid celebrations: DMP chief

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has said it has taken all possible security measures to ensure a safe and festive celebration of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

“We have made all necessary security preparations so that city dwellers can celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in a festive and safe environment,” he said.

DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali said this while speaking at a coordination meeting held at the conference room of the DMP Headquarters on Monday.

He emphasized the importance of security awareness at both individual and institutional levels.

The DMP chief, who chaired the meeting, said that the overall law and order situation in Dhaka Metropolitan City has been thoroughly reviewed.

The meeting also addressed measures to ensure the safe and smooth travel of passengers, the successful execution of Eid congregations, and effective traffic management.

He further noted that the law and order situation in the capital has significantly improved due to the strong efforts of the DMP.

“Crimes such as robbery and extortion have been greatly reduced thanks to police initiatives. We must continue to make progress with everyone's cooperation,” added the DMP chief.
