A clash erupted between two rival groups in Jazira, Shariatpur, centering on local dominance. During the conflict, more than a hundred hand bombs were detonated.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning (5 April) in the Durbadanga area of Bilaspur Union in Jazira Upazila. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
According to local sources and police, a long-standing dispute over dominance exists between the supporters of Bilaspur Union Chairman Kuddus Bepari and Swechchhasebak League leader Jalil Madbar. Several clashes have taken place in the past due to this rivalry.
On Saturday morning, a minor incident escalated into a full-blown clash between supporters of both sides in the Durbadanga area.
During the clash, more than a hundred hand bombs were exploded. Later, police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
Meanwhile, a 15-second video of the clash and hand bomb explosions has gone viral on social media, particularly on Facebook. In the video, both sides can be seen facing off in an open field. Many individuals are seen wearing helmets and carrying buckets. Both groups are seen throwing hand bombs from their buckets, which explode with loud bangs and produce thick smoke.
