CEC vows action against any attempt to foil polls

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has warned that any attempt to obstruct the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections will be thwarted.

The CEC made the warning while speaking at a training and drill session for the elections at the headquarters of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Dhaka on Wednesday (26 November).

The law-and-order situation is not fully satisfactory but will improve before voting, he said.

The event focused on how the BGB will handle election-related emergencies.

The CEC noted that the Election Commission has nearly completed all preparations for voting and assured full security measures at polling stations.

The BGB will be deployed nationwide for the 13th parliamentary election, with sole responsibility in seven border upazilas, covering a total of four days before and after the elections.
