Horrific fire at fish processing factory in Chittagong

A fire broke out at the cold storage facility of BD Food Limited, a fish processing plant in the Sagarika area of Chattogram, around 11:00 AM today, Sunday (March 29).

Upon receiving the alert, eight units of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control after nearly an hour and a half of intensive effort.

Although the narrow space and presence of flammable materials inside the cold storage made the operation challenging, firefighters successfully prevented the fire from spreading further, avoiding major damage.

No casualties were reported as workers evacuated the building immediately after the fire started, and officials have since declared the situation under control and the area safe.
