Govt to recruit five lakh employees
The government has decided to recruit five lakh blue-collar public employees to fulfil the ruling party’s election pledge.
The government has launched the process to recruit 2,879 employees for the Ministry of Public Administration and its constituent departments and agencies, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman told the parliament on Wednesday.
In total, five lakh public workers will be employed, he added.
The Ministry of Public Administration has sent letters to the secretaries of different other ministries and their affiliated bodies for providing a list of vacancies.
In its election manifesto, the ruling party, BNP, pledged to create five lakh jobs in a transparent and swift process, the letters read.
To fulfill the election manifesto, all the ministries and departments have submitted their work plans and implementation strategies to the Prime Minister’s Office.
