Legendary singer Asha Bhosle is no more

The legendary Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 on Sunday, April 12, 2026. She breathed her last at a Mumbai hospital where she was being treated for cardiac and respiratory complications after being admitted the previous day.

Over a career spanning eight decades, Bhosle recorded thousands of songs, ranging from peppy cabaret numbers like "Piya Tu Ab To Aaja" to soul-stirring ghazals in "Umrao Jaan."

A recipient of two National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards, she was a versatile powerhouse of the Indian music industry. Her death marks the end of an era in Bollywood music, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire millions worldwide.
