Law will be amended to stop mob culture: Home Minister


Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced on Sunday, May 10, 2026, that the government is amending existing laws to eliminate "mob culture" and drafting new legislation to tackle modern crimes.

Speaking at the 'Police Week 2026' special welfare meeting at Rajarbagh, he highlighted that a committee has already been formed to propose laws against online gambling, cybercrime, and money laundering.

He noted visible improvements in law enforcement over the past two months and confirmed that special operations are ongoing against terrorists, extortionists, and drug dealers.

The Minister also stressed the importance of modern training for police personnel to keep pace with changing criminal tactics.
