32 films to get govt grants for FY25


Monday was the last day for submitting proposals for making full-length and short films under government grants for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Earlier, the deadline for submitting stories, screenplays and overall plans for film production to receive grants was 7 April. Later, it was extended till 22 April.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry was given in a notification signed by the Ministry’s Assistant Senior Secretary, Md Sharmin Akhtar on Tuesday.

The notification said that film production package proposals from producers, directors, filmmakers, film personalities, professional organisations in the relevant fields, writers, and screenwriters for the selection of stories and screenplays for the purpose of providing government grants for making full-length and short films in the 2024-25 fiscal year was published in the newspaper on 27 February.

The notification further states that the deadline for submitting full package proposals has been extended to 27 April, keeping the above conditions unchanged.

In order to expand the film industry and encourage talent and creativity, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry will provide grants to a total of 32 films, including 12 full-length films and 20 short films, in the 2024-25 fiscal year.

In order to receive a grant for a full-length film, 12 sets of the full package proposal, including the story, screenplay and overall plan for film production, must be submitted, and 12 sets of the full package proposal, including an original copy, must be submitted for a short film grant.

The producer must submit a certificate of financial capacity, a copy of national identity card, TIN certificate and a certificate from a film organisation (if any).
