BNP to present eight priority social policies to diplomats, development partners


The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to present its framework on eight priority social policies at a policy dissemination event involving members of the diplomatic community and development partners in Dhaka.

The event will be held on Tuesday, (20 Jan) from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Hotel Sheraton in Banani, said a press release.

The programme aims to outline BNP’s policy thinking on key social sectors and engage international stakeholders in dialogue on the party’s proposed social agenda

BNP Joint Secretary General for International Affairs Humaiun Kabir will preside over the event.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is scheduled to attend as the chief guest, while Dr Ziauddin Hyder, adviser to the BNP chairman, will deliver the keynote presentation focusing on the party’s eight priority social policies.

According to the proposed programme, the event will begin with registration and arrival of guests, followed by welcome remarks from Humaiun Kabir.

The keynote presentation by Dr Hyder will be delivered between 3:20pm and 3:45pm.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will then address the gathering, after which an interactive session and open discussion with diplomats and development partners will take place.

The event will conclude with closing remarks and networking session.

BNP officials said the initiative reflects the party’s effort to communicate its policy priorities to the international community and seek constructive engagement on social development issues ahead of the upcoming political transition.
